I keep this hanging on my office door.

This blog is an entrance into my attempt to turn myself from an I.T. professional to an actual developer. I have some advanced training in computers, but my development skills are not up to par for landing a job. I aim to change that with Lubbock Coding Academy.

  1. Describe one thing you learned in class today? Answer: I learned what a great group of people with whom I will be taking this journey. I was already familiar with the starting material, but I expect to be thoroughly lost in a few weeks.
  2. What excites or interests you about coding? Answer: I like that I will have the ability to create with just words. You can type something into existence.
  3. What does a doctype do? Answer: It defines what type the document will be. Doctype HTML means the document will be an HTML document.
  4. Explain how a browser determines what elements match a CSS selector. Answer: Browsers determine how to apply CSS selector by how they are noted in the style sheet or inline styling. You can use an external style sheet or and link it to an HTML document or you can use inline styling within the document itself. External style sheets are looked at as higher up in the cascade that directly styling an element inline.
